PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government is encouraging the Scout Movement to develop a generation with character, skills, independence, and readiness towards Golden Indonesia 2045 (14/8/2026).
Acting Regent of Bekasi Asep Surya Atmaja conveyed this when commemorating the 65th Scout Day at the Karangkitri Campground.
Asep said that the 65-year journey of the Scout Movement has resulted in dedication, work, and character development of Indonesia's young generation.
"Scout Day commemoration is not just an annual ceremony, but a momentum to build national character as the main foundation towards a Golden Indonesia that is increasingly advanced, sovereign, dignified, and prosperous," said Asep.
According to him, the values of Tri Satya and Dasa Dharma remain relevant in forming a generation that is resilient, ethical, disciplined, and has a spirit of mutual cooperation.
The 65th Scout Day carries the theme "Innovate, Create, Be Skilled and Independent to Support Food Self-Sufficiency" which supports national resilience.
"The Scout Movement continues to evolve from learning by doing to learning, creating, and solving, namely learning, creating, and solving real problems," he said.
Asep believes that scouting education needs to equip the younger generation to deal with narcotics, violence, hoaxes, gambling, and declining social awareness.
"The Scout Movement must continue to provide education that prepares the younger generation to face change, while adhering to the Tri Satya and Dasa Dharma as its foundation," he said.
Scouting education is also directed at environmental awareness through waste management, resource efficiency, clean energy, and utilization of local potential.
Asep hopes that Scout members have insight, skills, discipline, the courage to try, and the ability to develop ideas in the front group.
"We want Scouts to play a role in preparing human resources for the Golden Indonesia 2045, namely a generation with character, skills, independence, productivity, mastery of science and technology, and a spirit of devotion to the nation and state," he said.
He appreciated the local government, mentors, coaches, parents, the business world, community organizations, volunteers, and all partners of the Scout Movement.
"Let us make the commemoration of the 65th Scout Day in 2026 a momentum to renew our resolve, strengthen our unity, expand our devotion, and increase the Scout Movement's real contribution to our nation and state," he concluded.
