
PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - PT PLN (Persero) West Java Main Distribution Unit (UID) recorded a significant increase in the utilization of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) services until the third quarter of 2025.
PLN West Java Main Distribution Unit GM Sugeng Widodo said data shows the cumulative number of REC customer transactions from January to September 2025 reached 3,398 times with total sales of 1,224,545 REC units.
"This figure has grown compared to the same period in the previous year," he said.
In the third quarter of 2024, cumulative transactions reached 988, with total sales of 1,186,979 REC units. REC services are a crucial tool for all customer groups to contribute to the transition to clean energy.
For industrial customers, this instrument supports their global competitiveness, as it is now a requirement, especially for imported products.
Based on records from PLN UID Jabar, the areas with the highest number of REC transactions are Bandung (404 transactions), Depok (316 transactions), and Cimahi (275 transactions).
Meanwhile, the highest REC unit sales occurred in Karawang (327,161 units), Purwakarta (302,730 units), and Cikarang (215,783 units).
"The three largest customer groups of REC users in West Java come from industry, business, and households," he said.
