PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Muhammad Farhan has been officially elected as Mayor of Bandung for the 2025-2030 period. Together with Deputy Mayor Erwin, he will be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Farhan, has a background as a Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives 2019-2024 from the NasDem Party. Farhan serves on Commission I which oversees defense, foreign affairs, communications and informatics. During his term in parliament, Farhan was active in formulating strategic policies and legislation that had a broad impact on society.
Background and Career
Born in Bogor on February 25, 1970, Farhan grew up and studied in Bandung. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Padjadjaran University in 1995 before continuing his studies at Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan School of Management in a fellowship program.
Before entering politics, Farhan had a long career in the media industry as a radio broadcaster, television presenter, and sports executive.
One of the important positions he has held is as Director of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (2009–2016). With experience in the field of communication, Farhan has the advantage in building effective relationships and interacting directly with the community.

As Mayor of Bandung, Farhan carries the spirit of Caring for Bandung, Caring for its Citizens, a leadership approach that emphasizes city development that is oriented towards the welfare of the community. He is committed to realizing a MAIN Bandung, namely Superior, Open, Trustworthy, Advanced, and Religious.
With open, inclusive, and collaboration-based leadership, Farhan believes that Bandung can continue to develop into a more comfortable, advanced, and empowered city for all its citizens.
Personal Life
Farhan married Aryatri, an artist (film production), in September 1998. From their marriage, they were blessed with two sons, Muhammad Ridzky Khalid (died in 2015) and Muhammad Bisma Wibisana.
Family is an important part of Farhan's life and career journey, and is a source of inspiration in every step of his service to the community.
