PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) appreciates the plan of the West Java Provincial Government to reactivate railway lines that have not been operating for a long time.

Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardojo said, as an operator, his party welcomed the plan from the West Java Provincial Government.

"In principle, KAI as an operator supports the plan of West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi to reactivate non-operational railway lines," said Kuswardojo in Bandung.

Kuswardojo hopes that reactivation can facilitate public mobility in locations where reactivation is carried out and at the same time reduce congestion on the highway.

"In addition to facilitating mobility, of course reactivation can also increase economic growth in the surrounding community," said Kuswardojo.

"We know that the area that will be reactivated is an area that has beautiful natural scenery so that it can be used as a tourist destination in the future," he added.

Previously, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi would utilize trains to maximize West Java's tourism potential.

"Trains can support tourism because of their mass and anti-traffic jam nature. "(Trains) This is mass transportation, because mass transportation is easy to mobilize people," said Dedi Mulyadi.

According to Dedi, West Java will also reactivate the Bandung-Pangandaran railway line, the railway line in Garut, the railway line from Bogor-Sukabumi-Cianjur to Padalarang, and also the Bandung-Ciwidey railway line to anticipate traffic jams during the holiday season.

This reactivation is part of Governor Dedi Mulyadi's grand vision in rebuilding West Java's connectivity in a modern way but still based on local wisdom. The Governor has launched the Reactivation of 11 Railway Lines with a budget of Rp 20 Trillion.
