PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Indonesian Wredatama Association (PWRI) of the Regional Secretariat (Setda) Unit of Garut Regency held a Spiritual Siraman, Health Education, and Free Health Check-up activity, which was held at the Hall of the Indonesian Employee Consumer Cooperative (KKP-RI) Sasakadana, Garut Regency, Jalan Patriot, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, Wednesday (12/2/2025).

Head of the PWRI Unit of the Garut Regency Secretariat, Yati Rohayati, said that this activity was carried out in order to welcome the holy month of Ramadan and commemorate the 212th Anniversary of Garut Regency (HJG).

He said that today's event was held in collaboration with the Hasna Medika Heart Clinic and also the KKP-RI Sasakadana Garut. The free health check-up, Yati added, was intended for PWRI members, so that everyone is expected to care about their health, especially their heart.

Yati explained that apart from today, there will be a series of other activities such as blood donation on Thursday (13/2/2025) in collaboration with the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Garut Regency and also healthy heart exercise on Friday (14/2/2025) which is also in collaboration with the Hasna Medika Main Heart Clinic and also the Indonesian Heart Foundation (YJI) of Garut Regency.

"Of course the goal is that we must be healthy, therefore we must love our heart and all our body organs," he said.

He hopes that activities like this will continue so that the friendship between PWRI members in Garut Regency can continue to be maintained.

"Of course, it is hoped that it is not only now, especially related to the bonds of brotherhood between us, because when we retire, we lose touch with our friends, therefore we want to maintain our ties, even though now we can do it with WA groups and so on, but there are routine activities," he hoped.

Meanwhile, the Head of PWRI Garut Regency, Yaya S. Permana, said that PWRI is a continuation of the Indonesian Civil Service Corps (KORPRI), where KORPRI is for active State Civil Apparatus (ASN), while KORPRI is for ASN who have entered retirement.

"PWRI was formed to improve the welfare of its members with various activities like now, there are many useful activities, free heart check-ups, then tomorrow blood donation, then heart exercise, those are positive things, useful things especially in old age," said Yaya.

He said that PWRI has formed management in each sub-district and also in several Regional Work Units (SKPD) as PWRI units. For this, he hopes that the government will be present in order to improve the welfare of PWRI members, so that his party can be active and do positive things like today.

"Yes, today it must continue, not only today, free heart check-ups, then blood donations, positive things are sustainable, besides that we also hope that it will not only be internal but also external, such as in (PWRI) districts (there is a program) Salasa Barokah, so we don't just share a pack of 10 thousand. But for people who have important needs, it is very useful, God willing, it is blessed. So in accordance with the motto of PWRI, it is our dream home, a place of shelter and charity in old age," he said.

In the same place, the Director of the Hasna Medika Garut Main Heart Clinic, Fadli Amarullah explained that the activity held by the PWRI Unit of the Garut Regency Secretariat was a very extraordinary event, especially since the event was in the context of welcoming the 212th HJG.

"They turned out to be very enthusiastic, we were visited by them, they then discussed with us how we wanted to contribute to society, especially us, the so-called ASN who have retired, it turned out that thank God this event took place and the series, there will be three series and hopefully this event will be very useful for friends, especially our mothers and fathers who are retired," he said.

As for the health checks prepared by his party, continued Fadli, starting from checking blood pressure, sugar, to electrocardiography.

Fadli hopes that with this education and health check-up, PWRI members will be more concerned about their health, because according to him, prevention is better than cure.

"That's what we really hope they are more aware of, so that the number of deaths related to heart disease can be reduced because of the healthy lifestyle and so on," he said. (Garut District Government Public Relations Release/Revo)
