PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. MAJALENGKA - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin appreciated 27 Regents and Mayors for implementing the 2024 Election in West Java which ran safely, neutrally and calmly.
This was expressed by Bey Machmudin at the 2024 Regional Head Coordination Meeting at the Fitra Hotel, Majalengka Regency, Friday (23/2/2024).
Bey said that the implementation of the 2024 elections in all areas of West Java generally went well and smoothly.
"I appreciate that the election (in West Java) ran safely, peacefully and smoothly," he said.
The 2024 Regional Head Coordination Meeting was attended by all Regents/Mayors who exchanged ideas for the future development of West Java.
On that occasion, Bey also appreciated the collective work of regional officials in West Java at both provincial and district/city levels who were present to provide quick disaster management.
He gave the example of the tornado that hit the Rancaekek-Jatinangor area, Sumedang Regency recently.
"I felt like I had moved quickly to the location (of the tornado disaster), but it turned out that the BPBD, social services and health services, both provincial and city districts, were faster than me," he said.
Bey also emphasized that disasters could occur at any time. Therefore, the regents/mayors are present to anticipate by providing calm to the community when a disaster strikes.
"Disasters cannot be predicted. How to mitigate them shows that we are present. I think we have succeeded in providing peace to the community by reducing the impact of disasters," concluded Bey.
