PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The 2026 GIIAS Bandung automotive exhibition officially opened on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Sudirman Grand Ballroom in Bandung. The inauguration was attended by the Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development of West Java Province, Sumasna, along with Anton Kumonty, the Daily Chair and Chief Organizer of the GAIKINDO Exhibition and Conference.
In his remarks, the Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs of West Java Province, Sumasna, warmly welcomed the implementation of GIIAS Bandung 2026.
The West Java Provincial Government appreciates the presence of GIIAS Bandung 2026 as a momentum to encourage transactions and growth of the automotive industry in West Java by recording economic growth of 5.73 percent in the second quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, vehicle exports reached USD 5.06 billion or 21.63 percent of West Java's total non-oil and gas exports.
"To support the implementation of GIIAS Bandung, the West Java Provincial Government is providing a 10 percent discount on motor vehicle transfer fees and a 10 percent discount on annual motor vehicle taxes through KiosK Samsat. This incentive is a form of regional government support for the development of the automotive industry, as well as an effort to encourage economic activity and motor vehicle transactions in West Java," added Sumasna.
Meanwhile, the Daily Chairperson and Chairperson of the GAIKINDO Exhibition and Conference Organizing Committee, Anton Kumonty, highlighted the proud records and achievements achieved by GIIAS Bandung in its fourth year of holding.
"This year, GIIAS Bandung is even more complete, featuring a total of 19 motor vehicle brands, consisting of 16 passenger vehicle brands and 3 motorcycle brands. Interestingly, this year's event is also enlivened by 5 new brands in addition to the returning participants. We believe this array of innovations and the latest technologies will be a major magnet in West Java and make a real contribution to the national automotive industry," said Anton.
The 2026 GIIAS Bandung showcases a range of global passenger vehicle brands, including BAIC, BYD, Changan, Chery, Daihatsu, GAC AION, Honda, iCar, Jetour, KIA, Mazda, Omoda Jaecoo, Suzuki, Toyota, Vinfast, and Wuling.
Meanwhile, in the two-wheeled category, Royal Enfield, Scomadi, and Triumph are present, and supported by 11 brands from supporting industries will also enliven the implementation of GIIAS Bandung 2026.
During the five-day event, GIIAS Bandung 2026 will not only be a showcase for the latest vehicles, but will also be filled with various other exciting and interactive activities.
