PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - The excitement of the Ta'aruf Parade at the 38th MTQ event at the West Java Province level displayed many interesting nuances, the participants representing cultural diversity and unique creations.
A total of 27 districts/cities throughout West Java sent caravans with various cultures. This activity took place at Central Park Meikarta Cikarang, on Sunday (28/4/2024).
The Ta'aruf Parade was started by the Sumedang Regency Caravan which previously hosted the 37th MTQ at the West Java level in 2022. They displayed the original regional art of Kuda Renggong which was attended by hundreds of parade participants, including regional heads and other elements.
In the same place, Karawang Regency Caravan Chairman Irlan Suarlan said, to enliven the West Java MTQ taaruf parade in Bekasi Regency, his party presented the Gita Bahana Drum Band and jelangkung stilt art from the Karawang Regency Tourism and Culture Office.
"Our participants consisted of OPD heads, sub-district heads, mass organizations and others who participated in the excitement of the Taaruf Parade at the 38th MTQ West Java level in Bekasi Regency. The total number of Carawang Regency caravans was 1,033 participants," he said.
According to him, amidst the hustle and bustle of the Ta'aruf parade which was decorated with various entertainment, his party felt the sensation and positive atmosphere at the MTQ competition in Bekasi Regency.
"Hopefully we can win, we hope the Karawang Regency MTQ caravan can excel and be in the top three," he said.
Meanwhile, the host caravan of Bekasi Regency appeared at the end of the Ta'aruf Parade by displaying the art of ondel-ondel and other typical arts native to Bekasi Regency. It was recorded that the Bekasi Regency Caravan was the participant in the Taaruf parade with the most participants, with the characteristic of using authentic Bekasi batik.
