PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Ciroyom Flyover connecting Jalan Arjuna to Jalan Ciroyom Barat can now be used. Symbolically, the opening of this flyover was carried out by the Acting Mayor of Bandung A. Koswara together with the ranks of PT. Kereta Api Indonesia, Wednesday (10/23/2024)

Koswara said, Ciroyom Flyover is already suitable for use. A number of safety signs along the flyover have been completed. Bandung City Transportation Agency will also complete road signs in the area under the flyover.

"In terms of function, this flyover can already be used. Hopefully it can solve potential problems with the presence of an intersection used as a fast train feeder (Whoosh)," he said.

This flyover is operated to maintain the flow of mobility of residents passing through the area. Because, the crossing that is usually used by vehicles is often passed by fast train feeders or Whoosh.

According to Koswara, if the feeder operation has reached a maximum of 67 times, it means that the railroad crossing in this area must be closed every three minutes.

"Later, the crossing must be closed because the feeder intensity is quite high, every 3 minutes. So with this flyover, public movement will return to normal," he said.

Head of the Bandung City Transportation Agency (Dishub), Asep Kuswara, confirmed that his party would immediately complete the security aspects, especially under the flyover area.

Briefly, he explained, the Ciroyom Flyover will be used by vehicles passing from Jalan Arjuna to Jalan Ciroyom Barat.

Meanwhile, at the end of the flyover in the West Ciroyom area, the route to Ciroyom Market will be closed by barriers and concrete. So that road users are not allowed to cut through the road from West Ciroyom to Ciroyom Market. Road users must first turn around under the flyover, following the provisions of the existing signs.

Asep hopes that all parties will help each other spread information regarding orderly driving and obeying traffic signs in order to reduce the number of accidents.

"We ask all parties to convey this information, so that violations do not occur due to non-compliance. In addition, we ensure that there will be officers on guard," he said.

Head of the Bandung Class 1 Railway Engineering Center, Endang Setiawan, said that the Ciroyom Flyover has met the requirements related to roadworthiness, or the fulfillment of safety elements from the elements of signs or markings.

Regarding accident anticipation, Endang said that this flyover has been equipped with signs that regulate passing vehicles not to travel at speeds of more than 40 kilometers.

"For the closure of the level crossing, JPL guards will be on standby until the public gets used to the new route," he said.
