PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - Hundreds of prospective Hajj pilgrims from Ciamis Regency participated in the Hajj rituals as part of their preparations for their journey to the Holy Land. The event was opened by Ciamis Regent Herdiat Sunarya at the KH Irfan Hielmy Building on Wednesday (April 1, 2026).

In his remarks, Regent Herdiat emphasized that the Hajj pilgrimage is a pillar of Islam that must be carried out by Muslims who are able, both physically and financially.

He said that the Hajj pilgrimage not only requires spiritual readiness, but also prime physical condition.

According to him, the Hajj rituals are an important stage in providing understanding and practical simulations to prospective pilgrims so that they can carry out their worship according to Islamic law.

"This ritual is an important provision so that the congregation can carry out their worship in an orderly, legitimate, and independent manner," he said.

He also reminded prospective pilgrims to take care of their health from an early age, considering the difference in weather conditions between Indonesia and the cities of Mecca and Medina.

"Straighten your intentions, dedicate yourself solely to worship, and prepare your body from now on," he advised.

Apart from that, the Regent prayed that the entire series of Hajj pilgrimages this year would run smoothly and that the pilgrims would be given safety when they returned to their homeland.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Ciamis Regency Ministry of Hajj Office, Nana Supriatna, said that Hajj rituals are an important stage before departure.

He said that the number of manasik participants this year reached 856 people with an age range of 17 to 96 years.
"The purpose of this Hajj training is to provide understanding, practical simulations, and preparation so that prospective pilgrims can perform the Hajj independently, orderly, legally, and in accordance with the pillars and obligations of the Hajj," he explained.

Through this activity, it is hoped that all prospective Hajj pilgrims in Ciamis Regency will be able to perform their pilgrimage smoothly and devoutly, and return home with an accepted Hajj. (Ciamis Regency Communications and Information Office/rka)
