PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Bekasi Regency Regional Secretary Endin Samsudin opened the selection of Candidates for the Heritage Flag Raising Troop (Paskibraka) at the Bekasi Regency level in 2026, which was attended by 745 students from 22 sub-districts at the Wibawamukti Building, Bekasi Regency Government Complex, Central Cikarang (16/4/2026).

This activity provides an opportunity for the best students from high schools, vocational schools, and Islamic high schools to take part in a tiered selection process until 50 Paskibraka members are selected who will be on duty at the independence commemoration ceremony in the area.

Bekasi Regency Regional Secretary Endin Samsudin said the participants' enthusiasm demonstrated the growing interest of the younger generation in contributing to state activities.

"This is a source of pride for us because the enthusiasm of the participants was extraordinary," said Endin Samsudin.

The committee noted that 897 students registered for this year's Paskibraka selection and 745 participants attended the selection stages from a total of 22 sub-districts.

The selection process is carried out strictly through a number of stages, including administration, national insight tests, general intelligence tests, parades, health, fitness, marching regulations, personality and final determination.

Endin Samsudin emphasized that participants need to prepare themselves optimally because only the 50 best participants will be selected to become members of the district-level Paskibraka.

"Of the hundreds of participants who took part in the selection process, only the best will be chosen. Therefore, I ask all of you to prepare yourselves optimally, both physically and mentally," said Endin Samsudin.

Head of the Ideology, National Insight, and National Character Division of the Bekasi Regency National Unity and Politics Agency, Rama B. Matandung, explained that the selection registration took place from March 10 to April 12, 2026 online.

Rama B. Matandung said the selection stage will take place from April 16 to April 30, 2026 to determine the best participants who are entitled to serve at the independence ceremony in Bekasi Regency.

Participants who pass the district level selection have the opportunity to represent the region in the West Java Province level selection up to the national level.

Rama B. Matandung said that in 2025, representatives from these regions successfully passed to the provincial and national levels.

It is hoped that this achievement will be repeated so that more regional students can bring the good name of their region to a higher level.

The Paskibraka selection also serves as a means of building student character through training in discipline, leadership, and national insight that is beneficial for community life.
