PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Bogor Regency Government (Pemdakab) together with the West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) held a coordination meeting (rakor) to discuss solutions related to the Parung Panjang mining route to minimize the impact of accidents, and discussed the Puncak II route, which took place at the Alana Sentul Hotel on Wednesday, (12/2/2025).

The coordination meeting was led directly by the elected Governor of West Java, Dedy Mulyadi, and attended by the elected Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, together with the Deputy Regent of Bogor, Ade Ruhendi Jaro Ade, and the Regional Secretary of West Java, Herman Suryatmant.

The elected Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, on this occasion emphasized the importance of a joint commitment between the Bogor District Fire Department and the West Java Provincial Government to overcome the problems of congestion and accidents that often occur on the Parung Panjang route.

He said that the local government supports the repair of the 28.3 km provincial road, but also hopes for new solutions, such as the construction of alternative routes such as toll roads or regular mining roads that are free, to reduce the socio-economic burden borne by the community along the route.

"If the existing provincial route is forced to continue to be used, we are worried that a major disaster will occur both in terms of accidents and socio-economic impacts. Therefore, we really hope that there is a long-term solution that can be implemented together," said Rudy Susmanto.

Meanwhile, West Java Governor-elect Dedy Mulyadi also revealed that this has caused many problems, such as repeated deaths and accidents. Dedy emphasized that West Java now has sufficient fiscal to immediately take real steps to resolve the problem.

"We must be serious and optimistic in resolving this issue, especially focusing on the regulation of operating hours, today decide so that school children and those going to work do not collide with mining trucks. Do not let problems like in Parung Panjang which will only increase the number of victims. We must take quick and measured action for the benefit of the people," said Dedy Mulyadi.
