PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The 216th Anniversary of Bandung City (HJKB) celebration was also enlivened by a special public transportation fare of Rp216. The program presented by the Bandung City Government through the Transportation Agency is valid for three days for Bandros and Trans Metro Bandung (TMB) services.

The enthusiasm of the public and tourists was evident from the first day the special rates were implemented. Travelers from various regions took advantage of the opportunity to explore Bandung and enjoy public transportation.

Bandung City Transportation Agency Public Relations, Bagus Sugi Arif, said that the Rp216 fare is part of the 216th HJKB celebration series.

"This special fare of Rp216 is part of Bandung City's anniversary celebrations. We're offering a special fare to the public so they can enjoy public transportation at a special price," he said.

The Rp216 fare applies not only to Bandros, but also to Trans Metro Bandung (TMB) which serves five corridors and two feeders.

Bagus stated that public enthusiasm on the first day was quite high. To anticipate increased passenger numbers on Saturday and Sunday, 12 Bandros buses have been prepared and will be deployed across three service points.

Meanwhile, TMB services continue to operate with around 30 fleets serving five corridors and two feeders.

"Saturday and Sunday will likely be even busier. Therefore, we've prepared our fleet to accommodate the enthusiasm of the public and tourists," he said.

Tourists on vacation in Bandung were also enthusiastic. Irma, a tourist from Garut, expressed her delight at being able to enjoy a tour around Bandung at a special rate.

"We got a tour of Bandung for just Rp216. It felt really good. As we celebrate Bandung's anniversary, Bandung remains our top priority," he said.

Nanda and Ani, tourists from Yogyakarta, expressed similar sentiments. They learned about the special rates through social media and took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a trip on the Bandros.

"We only found out it was Bandung's birthday because we saw it on Instagram and TikTok. It turns out it's today. It was so much fun to tour Bandung and have its history told. I hope Bandung continues to progress," said Nanda.

The special fare program of Rp216 is one way the Bandung City Government encourages residents and tourists to enjoy Bandung and learn more about its history and various destinations through public transportation. (Bandung City Communications and Information Office/rka)
