PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin inaugurated the Garuda Bridge in Cisaat Hamlet, Cisitu Village, Malangbong District as part of the online launch of 200 bridge points by the Indonesian Army Chief of Staff (KASAD) (9/3/2026).

The bridge was built to strengthen transportation access for village residents and facilitate community mobility to schools, gardens, and economic activity centers.

Abdusy Syakur Amin said that the construction of this permanent bridge is a solution to the limited access that has been felt by the residents of Kampung Cisaat.

"The people of Kampung Cisaat are delighted with the inauguration of this bridge today. This bridge connects parts of the village, improving mobility, especially for schoolchildren studying, making travel smoother, safer, and more enjoyable, and also helping other community members with their activities," said Syakur.

Syakur expressed his appreciation to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and the Indonesian Army for providing infrastructure development for the people in remote areas of Garut.

Previously, residents of Cisaat Village only used wooden and bamboo bridges to cross the river, making daily activities often hampered and risky.

Neni, a resident of Cisaat Village, said the permanent bridge has made travel for residents much safer than before.

"Thank God, we are now greatly helped by this permanent and sturdy bridge. On behalf of the residents of Cisaat, I would like to express my gratitude to President Prabowo and the Army Chief of Staff," said Neni.

The inauguration of the Garuda Bridge also included the distribution of basic food aid to local residents as a form of concern for the village community.
