PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Garut Regency Government distributed Rp3.5 million in compensation to Mrs. Minawati, a resident of Sukatani Village, Cilawu District, while also overseeing the proposal for Integrated Welfare Housing assistance to the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia as a solution to accelerate the handling of uninhabitable houses (24/6/2026).

This assistance is provided to meet the urgent needs of beneficiaries during the verification and disbursement process of assistance from the central government.

The Head of the Garut Regency Social Service, Marlinda Siti Hana, said that the proposal for Integrated Welfare Housing assistance had been submitted by the Garut Regency Government since April 2026.

"In April 2026, the Garut Regional Government, through the Social Services Department, submitted a request for RST (Integrated Welfare House) assistance to the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs," said Marlinda.

The Social Services Department also updated Ms. Minawati's welfare data, changing her status from decile six to decile four by the end of 2025.

"Furthermore, it is also known that the resident was initially recorded as decile 6 in the second quarter of 2025, and a data update has been submitted so that by the end of 2025 he will be included in decile 4," explained Marlinda.

As an emergency response measure, the Social Services Department provided cash social assistance of IDR 3.5 million to Mrs. Minawati.

"The Garut Regional Government, through the Social Services Agency, is also providing social assistance funds amounting to 3.5 million rupiah to help support Mrs. Minawati's needs while awaiting the process of the social assistance proposal that the Garut Regional Government has submitted to the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs," he concluded.

Marlinda appreciates the public who actively report social issues so that the government can provide faster and more targeted handling.

"Garut Regency is so vast that it's impossible for us to visit each one individually. So, we will definitely visit anyone who reports a case," he emphasized.
