PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi spoke out regarding the many public complaints about damaged roads in Garut Regency.

According to him, during the preparation of the 2026 Garut Regency Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), a recommendation was given to allocate a road construction budget of 7 percent or IDR 360 billion of the total APBD.

However, in the realization of the 2026 Garut Regency Regional Budget, it turns out that the allocation for the construction of roads, bridges and public street lighting (PJU) was only IDR 105 billion or 2.2 percent of the total Regional Budget.

"Of that figure (Rp 105 billion), only Rp 80 billion has been allocated for road construction. It's impossible to repair such a wide road for only Rp 80 billion to Rp 105 billion with street lighting," said KDM, Dedi Mulyadi's nickname, on Saturday (September 12, 2026).

Therefore, the West Java Provincial Government will immediately invite the Garut Regent and the Head of the Garut Regency Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD). During the meeting, the KDM will ask the Regent to amend the Garut Regency Regional Budget (APBD) to comply with the provisions set by the governor. This will ensure smooth roads for the people of Garut.
