PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Thousands of runners took part in the "Run for Humanity" running race, Sunday (4/20/2025). This race not only carries the spirit of fitness, but also the values of humanity, education, and health.
This year is a special moment because Run for Humanity is held for the first time in Bandung City, with full support from the Bandung City Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora). This event carries the concept of a fun run and is divided into two distance categories, namely 5K and 10K, with the center of activity (race central) located at Bandung City Hall.
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan, who was also present, expressed his pride in the event. He ensured that the event would not disrupt city traffic.
"Everything went smoothly, we ensured that other road users were not disturbed, traffic signs remained in place," he said.
More than just a sporting event, Farhan also believes that this activity brings much broader benefits.
“This is not just about health, but also about the common good,” he added.
Meanwhile, Founder of Run for Humanity, Dimas Seto explained the reason for choosing Bandung as the first city to hold this event.
"Bandung is one of the most comfortable cities for running. The atmosphere is cool, the people are warm," said Dimas.
The enthusiasm of the participants was extraordinary, from children to adults. Several communities participated in enlivening the event. Along the route, participants were treated to various entertainment points and water stations, making the running experience even more enjoyable.
One of the participants of Run For Humanity, Fanny Alisa, admitted that she was very enthusiastic about this fun run event.
"I happen to like sports, so when I found out about this event, I immediately registered. Especially while enjoying the morning air of Bandung, hopefully in the future events like this will continue to be held," said Fanny.
With the success of the first event in Bandung, Run for Humanity has the potential to become an annual event that is awaited by the community. A small but meaningful step, combining a healthy lifestyle with real action for education, health, and humanity. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/RKA)
