PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Thousands of residents enthusiastically took part in the Job Fair or job fair held by the Bandung City Employment Service. Since morning, residents have been queuing to take part in the Job Fair which was held at the Grand Lodakara Hall (25/6/2024).
One of them, Septi (18), deliberately registered to look for work at the job fair. According to him, taking part in a job fair can make it easier for him to find work.
He admitted that he was interested in several companies that had long-term plans.
"Just went to the Sosro stand, Alfamart then went to IBF. Still looking, haven't 'applied' yet. While looking around, hopefully someone will match you. This makes it easier to find job vacancies," he said.
In the same place, Rama Suryaatmaja (25), a resident of Bandung, admitted that he learned about this job fair from social media. He, who graduated from a university in Bandung, said he was looking for job vacancies in the field of marketing and sales.
At this job fair, participants registered via the New BIMMA application provided by the Bandung City Manpower Office. Rama said that this application really helped him.
"So it's easier to enter data and requirements, it can be directly in the application and it's easier. We hope that more companies will join and eventually more can be added," he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, said that the Bandung City Government continues to accompany and facilitate job seekers, one of which is through job fairs. This is one of the Bandung City Government's efforts to reduce poverty in the City of Bandung.
"This is the first job fair event and will be the second in September 2024, where of course there will be more formations that can be accessed. "Hopefully it can be used," he said.
In the same place, the Head of the Bandung City Office, Andri Darusman, said that the presence of this job fair was able to absorb workers optimally. In 2023, 62.09 percent of job seekers will be absorbed and are currently working through the job market.
Meanwhile, this time the job fair was attended by 41 companies with a total of 5,435 job vacancies. The visitor target is to reach 10,000 job seekers and will be held for 2 days, 25-26 June 2024.
"We hope that at least 50 percent of the number of vacancies available can be absorbed. This job fair will also be held in a hybrid manner in collaboration with Jobstreet," he said.
The plan is for this job fair to be held twice in 2024.
"This year's Job Fair will be held twice again. Hopefully it can be used by fresh graduates. Vocational or high school graduates are expected to be able to apply if they do not continue further," he said. (Diskominfo Bandung City/Fauziah)
