PORTALJABAR, SUMEDANG REGENCY - Thousands of residents were delighted and enthusiastic about the Padjadjaran Cultural Parade in Sumedang Regency on Saturday night (May 2, 2026). Everyone from vendors to community groups felt the positive impact of the event.

Lilis, a resident of Gunung Puyuh Permai, expressed her joy and enthusiasm as she awaited the parade in front of Sumedang Square. The Padjadjaran Cultural Parade began with the parade of the Binokasih Crown, accompanied by a carriage. The procession traversed the main roads of Sumedang Regency.

"I'm happy to see cultural events like this, I'm taking my children and husband to watch at the town square," he said on Saturday (May 2, 2026).

Asep, from the Asep Sumedang community, supports the Tatar Sunda commemoration activities. He believes cultural activities must continue to be preserved and introduced to young people.

"I agree that it should be held annually," he added.

Iced tea seller at the town square, Santi, admitted that today she had sold three gallons of iced tea, whereas on normal days she only sells one gallon.

"Thank God, when there's an event like this, sales increase significantly. I want to hold events like this more often so I can sell more," he said.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that every cultural activity will certainly have a positive impact on the local economy.

"The economic potential is certainly high. Every activity like this also creates new micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This is relatively sudden; next year, Sumedang will be transformed and its potential will definitely be much better," said KDM, the governor's nickname.

Sumedang Regent Dony Ahmad Munir said that hotel rooms were full of guests who wanted to have a long vacation in Sumedang and watch the cultural parade.

"Hotels are full, restaurants are full, and I'm sure the MSMEs in Sumedang are happy and thriving. Thank you for initiating this activity in Sumedang," he said.
