PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto urged Muslims in Bogor Regency to pay zakat through BAZNAS as a form of social concern and wealth purification. He made this statement after paying zakat directly to the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Bogor Regency at the Multipurpose Building 1, Regional Secretariat, on Thursday (March 12, 2026).

The program is not only for the people of Bogor Regency, but also for people from outside the region who wish to distribute their zakat through the Bogor Regency BAZNAS. Specifically, the Bogor Regency Government is inviting government officials, both Civil Servants (ASN) and non-ASN within the Bogor Regency Government, to distribute their zakat through BAZNAS.

"We invite all residents of Bogor Regency, especially Muslims, to pay zakat, purify their wealth and purify their souls by distributing zakat through the Bogor Regency BAZNAS," said Rudy.

He explained that zakat is a way to purify one's wealth and purify one's soul, while also helping those in need. BAZNAS has been actively involved in distributing various forms of assistance to the underprivileged.

"Many people still need assistance, including our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Some time ago, the National Zakat Agency, along with Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, distributed aid to the Palestinian people," he said.

According to Rudy, Ramadan is the perfect time to increase solidarity and concern for others. He called for a collaborative effort, from Bogor to Indonesia, and from Indonesia to the world.

The Head of the Bogor Regency Baznas, KH Lesmana, said that zakat is one of the obligations of Muslims which has many benefits, including purifying the soul and wealth that have been entrusted by Allah SWT to mankind.

"Especially in this blessed holy month of Ramadan, Muslims are competing to increase their worship, including paying zakat, infaq, and alms," he said.

Lesmana expressed his appreciation to the Regent of Bogor for his continued support and commitment in encouraging increased collection of zakat, infaq, and alms through various BAZNAS programs in Bogor Regency.

The distribution of zakat by regional heads, heads of agencies, and various institutions during this Ramadan momentum is concrete evidence of the synergy between the regional government and BAZNAS in supporting the Love Zakat Movement and at the same time becoming a momentum for the revival of zakat in Bogor Regency.

"I invite all Muslims in Bogor Regency to fulfill their zakat obligations through BAZNAS so that its benefits can be felt more widely by those in need," he said.
