PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Garut Regency Government (Pemkab) continues to promote digital transformation to improve the quality of public services through the development of the SAGARUT public service application. This effort was conveyed during the SAGARUT Public Service Application Management Socialization event held at Campus 4 of Garut University, Jalan Terusan Pahlawan, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, Tuesday (9/6/2026).

Garut Regent, Abdusy Syakur Amin, emphasized that the presence of the SAGARUT application aims to reduce bureaucracy and simplify public affairs, not add new workloads for government officials.

"Essentially, this application should assist public relations services and optimize PAD (Regional Original Revenue), not create new jobs. Therefore, we are primarily focusing on providing the best possible service to the public," said Abdusy Syakur Amin.

The Regent also highlighted the public complaints system, which will be integrated with the existing SP4N Lapor system. To ensure the application runs interactively and provides solutions, he instructed the Garut Regency Communications and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) to prepare reliable human resources.

"I ask Mr. Agus (Head of the Communications and Information Office) to provide training for operators in each Regional Work Unit (SKPD) so they can respond quickly to reports received from the public," he stressed.

The Regent further explained that application development must be based on measurable data. Each designed feature must have a target achievement, clear progress, and regular evaluation as part of the regional government's performance indicators.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Garut Regency Communication and Information Service, Agus Kurniawan, explained the strategic function of the SAGARUT application as a super app that integrates various public services and important information of Garut Regency into one digital platform.

Some of the featured features available in the application include population and government administration services, integrated tourism information, local MSME empowerment, the latest news and information about Garut Regency, and digital payment services.

"In terms of function, the SAGARUT Super app is designed to meet the various daily needs of the Garut community, which are all digital in nature," explained Agus Kurniawan.

The Garut Regency Communications and Information Office has set a long-term target of having the SAGARUT app downloaded and used by at least 1.5 million users by 2029 and 2030. Currently, the app offers around 30 services.

Agus explained that SAGARUT uses a hybrid system, namely combining services built directly into the application with services already owned by each regional device.

"Please ensure that the current stand-alone system continues to run smoothly when integrated. This application will not stop here; it will continue to evolve in line with the changing needs of the Garut community," he added.

At the end of his presentation, Agus encouraged the public who have downloaded the SAGARUT app to actively provide ratings, reviews, and complete the satisfaction survey available within the system. Public criticism and input will be used as evaluation material to continuously improve the quality of public services in Garut Regency. (Garut Communications and Information Service/rka)
