PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java Province (Jabar) Herman Suryatman along with a number of employees in the West Java Provincial Secretariat (Setda) carried out an environmental clean-up action around the Gedung Sate area in Bandung.

In addition to the cleaning action, the roadside curbs were also painted by a collaborative effort.

The West Java Regional Secretary said that his action with the employees was carried out in order to welcome the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

According to Herman, it is important to understand independence by tidying up the environment, both in the residential environment and in the work environment.

This is proof of the enthusiasm to welcome independence with positive actions and activities that have a real impact on the environment.

"Let's celebrate independence by tidying up our surroundings. At home and at the office, make sure everything looks clean, tidy, beautiful, and comfortable," said Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman at the Gedung Sate building in Bandung on Wednesday morning (August 12, 2026).

Furthermore, the West Java Regional Secretary also stated that Indonesian Independence Day should be celebrated with both hard work and smart work. Every job, regardless of profession, must be undertaken wholeheartedly and sincerely.

"Independence used to be defined as seizing and defending independence. Now, we actualize our independence by fulfilling it," said Herman Suryatman.
