PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Trade and Industry Service (Disdagin) is holding a cheap bazaar in six sub-districts for three days, on December 3 - 5, 2024.

This activity aims to help people meet their basic needs at affordable prices while maintaining price stability ahead of Christmas and New Year (Nataru).

Acting Mayor of Bandung, A. Koswara explained that this bazaar offers basic necessities at distributor prices, which are cheaper than market prices.

"Alhamdulillah, the public's enthusiasm is very high. We provide 12 tenants with various commodities that can be purchased by the public at a cheaper price," said Koswara at Lapang Puter (3/12/2024).

According to Koswara, the implementation of this bazaar aims to reduce the potential increase in the price of basic necessities which usually occurs before long holidays.

"Although inflation in Bandung City is relatively under control, long holidays often trigger price disruptions. Through this bazaar, we hope that people can still meet their needs at affordable prices," he explained.

This activity received appreciation from the Bandung City DPRD. The Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, Asep Mulyadi stated that this cheap bazaar is very helpful for the community in facing the end of year needs.

"This is a concrete step by the City Government that deserves support because it lightens the burden on residents, especially those with limited purchasing power," he said.

One resident, Yani Mulyani, expressed her gratitude.

"The prices at this bazaar are much cheaper than the market, especially for rice. Activities like this are very helpful for us who have to meet basic needs ahead of Christmas and New Year," said Yani.

With this cheap bazaar, it is hoped that the community can be helped in meeting basic needs, as well as maintaining the stability of staple food prices in the city of Bandung.
