PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is accelerating the integration of SAPA UMKM as an integrated service system for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) throughout Indonesia. This effort was marked by a Coordination Meeting on Synergy for Facilitation, Protection, and Empowerment of MSMEs, attended by leaders and representatives from dozens of ministries and institutions in Jakarta on Wednesday (August 12, 2026).

At the forum, most ministries and institutions signed a joint commitment to support the implementation of SAPA UMKM. Minister of SMEs Maman Abdurrahman expressed his appreciation for the agreement, which he said is crucial for building understanding in utilizing SAPA UMKM as an integrated service system for businesses in Indonesia.

Minister Maman explained that this coordination meeting serves as a strategic forum to align steps in the consolidation and reorientation of MSME empowerment programs, while simultaneously accelerating SAPA UMKM's position as a one-stop shop for national MSME empowerment services. He outlined several ongoing integration achievements, including halal certification services with the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH), Home Industry Food Licensing (P-IRT) with provincial governments, and supervisory aspects with the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).

However, Minister Maman emphasized that system integration cannot be implemented simultaneously. Each ministry and agency has different service mechanisms and databases, so the process needs to be gradual and measured according to each institution's readiness.

"We want everything to be done proportionally and gradually. We don't want to rush things, which would be less effective for MSME entrepreneurs," he said.

To date, government programs and services for MSMEs have been scattered across various agencies, each with its own mechanisms and databases. This situation has resulted in incomplete integration of MSME data and the potential for duplication of programs and services. Through the integration of SAPA UMKM, the government hopes that these various services will be further connected, allowing MSMEs to access programs that truly align with their needs and the stage of their business development.

The Ministry of MSMEs emphasized that strengthening the ease, protection, and empowerment of MSMEs is not merely a sectoral program, but a shared agenda that requires the active involvement of all ministries and institutions. The understanding fostered by this coordination meeting is expected to translate into concrete steps across agencies, enabling MSMEs to become more advanced, productive, and competitive, while strengthening their contribution to the national economy.
