PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government through the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) has taken down the videotron bando advertisements that stretch across Jalan LLRE Martadinata (Jalan Riau), precisely in front of the Santika Bandung Hotel, as part of the city's spatial planning and increasing public safety, Thursday night to early Friday morning (18-19/6/2026).
Head of Bandung City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Bambang Sukardi, said that the cleanup was carried out in stages to ensure that all advertising media complied with spatial planning regulations and did not endanger the public.
"The road closure is being implemented to ensure the demolition process runs smoothly and avoids endangering people passing through the site," he said.
The demolition began at 22.00 WIB until 04.30 WIB, involving joint officers and supporting equipment to take down the advertising construction and the 4 x 12 meter LED videotron panel.
The enforcement process is carried out by securing the road sections to ensure the safety of officers and road users during the activity.
Bambang said that the advertisement was the 12th videotron bando that had been regulated by the Bandung City Government in the context of arranging the aesthetics and safety of public spaces.
This regulation is also an effort by the government to create a more orderly, safe and comfortable city for the public, especially in the use of road space.
During the demolition process, activities took place safely, orderly, and did not cause significant disruption to the activities of residents around the location.
"Thank God, the entire series of activities went smoothly, safely, and conducively. The demolition process was completed according to plan without any untoward incidents," he said.
