PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Garut Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) collaborated with the TNI-Polri to carry out a liquor raid in Garut Kota District, Wednesday (19/6/2024).
In this operation, they succeeded in confiscating 1,345 bottles of various brands from liquor stores. The joint team then sealed the liquor shop.
According to Garut Satpol PP Head Usep Basuki Eko, this operation began with intelligence from Garut Satpol PP collaborating with TNI-Polri to exchange information.
Eko said that this joint operation was the second time it had been carried out while he served as Kasatpol PP Garut.
"Even the first one is still in process, the P-21 hasn't been filed yet and now we find it again, of course this will be a burden," he said.
The confiscated alcohol will be taken to the Garut Regency Satpol PP Headquarters to be followed up by investigators. After the filing is complete, the evidence and suspects will be handed over to the prosecutor's office for further legal proceedings.
"After we have completed the filing, we will hand it over to the prosecutor's office because later the public prosecutor will go to court, including the suspect, we will hand it over to the prosecutor's office," he said.
Kasatpol PP Garut also said that the regional government through the Acting Regent of Garut had signed a Letter of Joint Agreement (SKB) with the Garut Police Chief and Dandim 0611 Garut to eradicate immorality, including the distribution of alcohol.
"Everyone stated that alcohol is the basis of other crimes, other criminal acts, that's why both the police, TNI and Pol PP are working together to eradicate alcohol," he said.
