PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) together with a joint team, curbed illegal buildings and street vendors (PKL) on Jalan Sumatra, Bandung City, Tuesday (9/7/2024).
In this activity, 4 illegal buildings were controlled and 1 illegal building was given a warning.
Head of the Bandung City Satpol PP Trantibum Division, Yayan Ruyandi, said that enforcement began with sending a first warning letter on June 25 2024. This was followed by a second warning letter on July 1 2024, and a third warning letter on July 3 2024.
“Based on Regional Regulation no. 4 of 2011 and Regional Regulation no. 9 of 2019 which regulates the arrangement of street vendors and public order, so we are carrying out control in the Jalan Sumatra area," said Yayan on Jalan Sumatra, Tuesday (9/7/2024).
Yayan explained that along Jalan Sumatra it is categorized as a yellow zone, which allows selling activities, except at intersection points within 100 meters which are designated as red zones.
"The red zone includes the intersection of Jalan Aceh, Jalan Belitung, Jalan Nias, Jalan Java and Jalan Natuna," he explained.
Controlling is carried out in stages with priority on illegal buildings and street vendors in the red zone.
“Some street vendors and illegal building owners have demolished it themselves. "Meanwhile, Satpol PP provides assistance," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Regional Legal Product Enforcement for the Bandung City Satpol PP, Bagus Wahyudiono, emphasized the importance of enforcing regulations with a humanistic educational approach and involving joint teams.
"Essentially, we have to enforce regulations in an educational and humanistic way," said Bagus.
Bagus also added that according to him this control was important, considering that Jalan Sumatra was an area prone to accidents due to crowds of street vendors.
"Apart from the difference in zones, this area often experiences accidents and there is the official residence of the West Java Regional Police Chief which must be kept safe," he explained.
With this control, said Bagus, it is hoped that Jalan Sumatra can become more orderly and safe.
"Reducing the risk of accidents and increasing comfort for all citizens of Bandung City," he concluded. (Diskominfo Bandung City/Revo)
