PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Civil Service Police Unit removed 16 street vendor stalls that were no longer in use in the Cicadas area to organize public spaces and support the planned Bus Rapid Transit route in the area (21/4/2026).
The transportation of the stalls was carried out in two stages, namely April 8 and April 20, 2026 by around 30 personnel from the Bandung City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP).
Head of Public Order and Security of Bandung City Satpol PP Yayan Ruyandi explained that the stalls that were confiscated were sales facilities that had not been used for a long time.
"What we did yesterday was transport the wheels or stalls that were no longer used for selling. There were 16 wheels in total, transported in two stages of eight wheels each," said Yayan.
The arrangement was carried out to eliminate the impression of slums and at the same time make the Cicadas area more organized and comfortable for the community.
Yayan explained that the area is included in the Bus Rapid Transit development route which will cross 12 sub-districts in Bandung City.
The process of arranging the area is still ongoing in stages through administrative stages before comprehensive regulation is carried out.
"Currently, we've only received the second warning letter (SP2). Comprehensive enforcement will be implemented after the SP3 is issued, taking into account the situation and conditions on the ground," Yayan said.
He ensured that the arrangement steps were carried out through discussions with street vendor coordinators, sub-districts, urban villages, and the Bandung City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP).
"There was no objection because this was a mutual agreement. The stalls being removed were no longer active, so it was better to clean them up to prevent them from becoming abandoned," Yayan said.
The Bandung City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) is also carrying out similar arrangements in other areas to maintain order in public spaces and improve public comfort.
"We have also implemented similar arrangements using the same approach, prioritizing coordination and agreement with residents," said Yayan.
The arrangement of this area is expected to make the city space more orderly and support the development of more comfortable public transportation for Bandung City residents.
