PORTALJABAR, SUBANG REGENCY - The West Java Province Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) is controlling traders who are still insisting on carrying out buying and selling activities along the Subang to Bandung Highway (starting from the Tangkuban Parahu Monument, Ciater District) to Jalan Cagak, Jalan Cagak District.

West Java Public Order Agency (Kasatpol PP) Chief Akhmad Taufiqurrahman stated that the firm enforcement action was motivated by the vendors' non-compliance with a previously reached agreement with the West Java Provincial Government. The West Java Provincial Government had previously provided compensation to the vendors, agreeing to temporarily halt trading activities in the area. This suspension of trading activities was agreed to be in effect until the new trading area, currently under construction by the West Java Provincial Government, was ready for use.

"Even though there has been an agreement and compensation, we still find traders violating the rules," said Akhmad, Sunday (23/8/2026).

Therefore, as a final persuasive step, joint officers first held another outreach activity on Saturday (August 22, 2026). This approach aimed to provide warnings, understanding, and an opportunity for vendors to immediately remove their merchandise and vacate the premises independently.

A disciplinary operation was then carried out on Sunday (August 23, 2026). The disciplinary action was carried out firmly, measuredly, and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) against vendors who persisted in conducting their trading activities in prohibited areas, namely on roadsides, sidewalks, and other public facilities not designated as trading areas.

During the enforcement process, officers confiscated any items remaining at the location and then handed them over to the local sub-district government. The seized items can be reclaimed by their owners if they meet the applicable requirements, including signing an official statement promising not to repeat the violation by selling in the prohibited area.

Through this activity, the West Java Province Satpol PP emphasized that the regulation that
carried out not merely as a form of repressive action for violations of public order and security.

"Moreover, this step represents the West Java Provincial Government's ongoing efforts to create orderly, safe, and comfortable public spaces for all levels of society, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," Akhmad said.

He appealed to all parties to work together to maintain order in the region.

"Enforcement will continue throughout West Java. Therefore, we urge all elements of society, especially business owners in this region, to continue to improve their compliance and legal awareness," said Akhmad.

The implementation of this operation is a form of synergy between the West Java Province Satpol PP and various related agencies, including the Subang Regency Satpol PP, the Ciater District Government, the Jalan Cagak District Government, the West Java Province Transportation Agency (Dishub), and the West Java Province Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DBMPR).

Illegal buildings

In addition to controlling trading activities in the area, officers also investigated illegal structures located on the site. During these operations, five unlicensed structures were discovered on land owned by PTPN.

Previously, PTPN, as the landowner, had submitted a letter requesting assistance with the regulation of these buildings to the government. Based on this, the West Java Provincial Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) sealed the five illegal structures as part of its efforts to enforce order and comply with applicable regulations.

This sealing is the initial step before the demolition process begins. The demolition process will begin after all procedures and technical requirements under the authority of the West Java Provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency have been implemented.
