PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) together with the Bandung City Street Vendor Task Force and the West Java Province Satpol PP have taken action against a number of Street Vendors (PKL) in the Jalan Banda area and its surroundings, including the Saparua GOR.

This regulation aims to reorganize public areas so that they are clean, orderly, and do not interfere with the rights of road users and public comfort.

Head of Bandung City Satpol PP, Rasdian Setiadi emphasized that the clean-up is part of a collaborative effort across agencies and regions to maintain order in the city.

"We are not here to make things difficult for traders, but to organize so that all parties can be comfortable. Jalan Banda has entered the red zone based on Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2011 and Regional Regulation Number 9 of 2019, so there should be no street vendor activities in that area," said Rasdian in the Saparua GOR Area, Bandung City, (19/4/2025).

He explained that for the Jalan Ambon area which is included in the yellow zone, the approach taken is still persuasive.

"We have discussed with the PKL coordinator and asked for a clear commitment. After selling, the location must be clean, no carts or tents left behind. It cannot be arbitrary or follow one's own will," he added.

Rasdian hopes that there will be awareness from each trader and coordinator to create an orderly sales system.

"Operating hours, days off for cleaning, and a ban on building permanent places must be agreed upon. We will ask for that commitment to be locked, and there must be no new street vendors," Rasdian said.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Order and Public Security (Trantibum), Yayan Ruyandi added that the clean-up began with a joint roll call and involved 185 personnel from Bandung City Satpol PP and 25 personnel from West Java Satpol PP.

"Our Operation Target (TO) is clear, Jalan Banda must be clear of all forms of street vendors. If found, immediately put in order," said Yayan.

He explained, in addition to Jalan Banda, attention was also given to Jalan Ambon, Jalan Halmahera, and Jalan Aceh. However, for these areas, Satpol PP is still waiting for further direction from the leadership because it is included in the yellow zone.

"We also invite regional elements from sub-districts, urban villages, Koramil, and Polsek, because they have direct responsibility for the region. This collaboration is important so that there is no overlap in implementation in the field," he added.

The clean-up took place from 16.00 to 21.30 WIB, and was continued with joint patrols with regional elements.

In the near future, the Provincial Satpol PP will also install warning signs in the Saparua GOR area as a form of prohibition on selling on assets belonging to the West Java Provincial Government.

"This clean-up is not the end, but the beginning of a sustainable arrangement system. We want this area to remain clean and not return to its previous chaotic condition. Let's realize a safe, comfortable, clean, and orderly Bandung," Yayan appealed.
