PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Garut Regional Secretary (Sekda), Nurdin Yana, attended the 18th Anniversary of the Garut Teacher and Employee Alliance Forum (FAGAR) at the Pendopo Building, Saturday (9/3/2024).

During the event, Nurdin revealed plans to appoint honorary employees in Garut Regency to become State Civil Apparatus (ASN).

Responding to requests from various parties, including FAGAR Garut, Nurdin said that his party had proposed the appointment of honorary workers in Garut Regency to the MenPAN-RB. The proposal includes not only FAGAR members, but also Honorary Workers (THK)-II in Garut Regency.

"Regarding the appointment, it is true that tomorrow it will mean that we have proposed the amount, so then we will convey this amount to the MenPAN-RB and it will become a decision at the MenPAN-RB," he said.

His party hopes to soon receive information regarding the determination of the ASN appointment that was previously proposed. Nurdin also revealed that President Joko Widodo had previously announced plans to appoint around 2 million people to ASN, including in Garut Regency.

"For Garut Regency, God willing, we will also carry out recruitment not only for PPPK but today it is also open for CPNS," he said.

Nurdin also explained that the regional government had previously received an audience from honorary staff and had conveyed this to the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel (Dirjen GTK) of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture.

"So, we conveyed our position like this, then the Garut Regency Government stated that our needs were indeed at 8 thousand as per the data released by the Ministry of PANRB," he said.

Nurdin said that previously the regional government proposed 2,300 honorary staff as ASN, of which 1,400 were technical staff, 600 were teachers, and the rest were for health workers and CPNS.

Chairman of FAGAR Garut Adeng Sukmana conveyed the vision of his organization which seeks to improve the welfare of its members and change the fate of honorary employees who become ASN.

Adeng also explained that FAGAR Garut had collaborated with BPJS Employment to provide welfare to honorary teachers. Even though this collaboration was stopped, it was revitalized again in 2023 to provide welfare for honorary teachers.

Adeng emphasized that the government, through the BPJS Employment program, is present to provide compensation to honorary teachers who need it, in accordance with the program being implemented.

"The government, through the BPJS employment program, is here to provide compensation to our friends who died," he said.
