PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Garut Regency, Nurdin Yana, attended the Inauguration of the Management of the Garut Regency Private College Deliberation Body (BMPS) for the 2024-2029 period which was held at the Garut Local Education Center (LEC) Office, Thursday (1/8/2024).

Nurdin emphasized the important role of BMPS as a forum for educational figures who have educational foundations in Garut Regency. According to him, their contribution is vital, especially in supporting education in remote areas.

"You can imagine what education would be like in Garut Regency without their intervention or contribution to education in Garut Regency, (especially) those far away, okay if they are close to urban areas, but what about those far away, that too (needs attention) "Besides the costs we have to prepare, is there also a minimum of personnel available? Is this a problem?" he said.

He hopes that the newly appointed BMPS administrators can take part well and make real contributions, as well as being able to mobilize private educational institutions in Garut Regency.

"So they have the same enthusiasm, both in improving educational qualifications and infrastructure qualifications," he said.

Chief Executive Acep Sunjana said, based on the deliberation forum, the Garut Regency BMPS for the 2024-2029 period will be chaired by H. Uus Kusnawan Sutarsa.

"Thank God, hopefully he can lead BMPS Garut Regency and revive this organization. Because perhaps with the busyness of the old management, and retirement, BMPS activities have been somewhat delayed. Hopefully now it can come back to life to support private education," he said.
