PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Provincial Secretary Herman Suryatman invited the Department of Manpower and Transmigration (Disnakertrans) in West Java, both provincial and district and city, to move progressively and work together to reduce the unemployment rate.

Herman said this when chairing the Coordination Meeting (Rakor) of the Provincial, Regency and City Manpower Offices throughout West Java in the Bima Hall of the West Java Manpower Office, Bandung City, Thursday (25/7/2024).

"One of the big challenges faced is the high open unemployment rate (TPT), which reached 6.91 percent (data as of February 2024)," said Herman.

"We agreed with our friends, heads of provincial and 27 district and city labor services, from 6.91 percent, we will increase it in 2024 to 5.19 percent. "It's also called a progressive target," he added.

According to Herman, the progressive target of the Manpower and Transmigration Department in West Java in reducing the Open Unemployment Rate can accelerate the achievement of macro development indicators in West Java as stated in the Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD) 2005-2025.

“West Java has big homework. "The Governor has said that the government's task is to improve the welfare of society and within the RPJPD corridor, by December 2025 West Java must become the most advanced province in accordance with his vision," he said.

In pursuing targets for achieving macro development indicators, Herman emphasized the importance of cooperation between provincial and city district governments.

"We invite 27 city districts and the province to work hand in hand to create progressive targets so that the macro development indicators can be achieved or even exceeded. Together with the city districts, we will mobilize the sub-district heads as well," said Herman.
