PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman emphasized the importance of the existence and strategic role of Sundanese youth in responding to future challenges, especially in the fields of education and economics.

According to Regional Secretary Herman, Sundanese youth are expected to be able to maintain their cultural identity and values and make a real contribution to the progress of society.

This was stated by Regional Secretary Herman when delivering a keynote speech at the 2026 Sundanese Youth Symposium with the theme "Ngarumat Tatar Sunda, Ngarancang Masa Depan" at the Bale Rumawat Auditorium, Padjadjaran University, Bandung City, Saturday (18/10/2026).

Regional Secretary Herman emphasized that the goal of realizing a special West Java cannot be achieved instantly.

"West Java's progress requires struggle, sacrifice, hard work, and a shared commitment from the government. Of course, youth and all elements of society play a role," Herman said.

To realize the vision of Special West Java, he hopes that Sundanese youth can fight for their youth through activities that bring benefits.

"West Java's special status didn't fall from the sky. It had to be fought for, and sacrifices were necessary," said Regional Secretary Herman.

Herman added that the West Java Provincial Government is ready to build synergy with DAMAS and various community components to encourage regional development.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen the role of youth as strategic partners of the government in realizing a more advanced and prosperous West Java.

Herman encouraged the younger generation of Sundanese to continue the noble values inherited from their ancestors, while also developing them in line with the challenges of the times.

"With enthusiasm, capacity, and real contributions, Sundanese youth are expected to be an important part of designing a better future for West Java," he concluded.
