PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government and the city and district governments in West Java are committed to jointly improving the quality of public health and providing optimal health services to the community.
This was stated by the Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, after leading the Coordination Meeting of the West Java Provincial Health Service with the District and City Health Services throughout West Java at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Saturday (12/4/2025).
According to Herman, there are a number of things that are the focus of improving health quality, including reducing the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), and Stunting.
"For health matters today, we are not doing well, we still have to continue to improve the infant mortality rate, maternal mortality rate, and stunting rate," said Herman.
"So we can't play around, we are committed, with all the limitations, with all humility, to overcome everything," he added.
Through the coordination meeting, said Herman, the West Java Health Office and the City and District Health Offices in West Java can align their commitment to work together to provide more attention to maternal and child health. One of them is by providing attention related to nutritional intake, vitamins, and supporting matters for maternal and child health.
"Infant mortality rates must be reduced significantly, maternal mortality rates must be reduced significantly, zero new stunting must be achieved," he said.
Director General of Primary and Community Health of the Ministry of Health Maria Endang Sumiwi welcomed the commitment of the West Java Provincial Government and the city and district governments in West Java to improve the quality of public health.
"We see that the commitment from West Java Province is very high, very extraordinary, the Regional Secretary's enthusiasm is extraordinary, as are the heads of the Departments throughout West Java, we are also ready to support West Java," said Maria.
