PORTALJABAR, CIMAHI CITY - Regional Secretary of West Java Province Herman Suryatman emphasized that West Java needs a fighter leadership model, namely a leader who dares to risk his body and soul for the benefit of the community.
This statement was delivered when giving a presentation at the Opening of the National Leadership Training (PKN) Level II Batch IV of 2025 at the West Java Province BPSDM Campus, Cimahi City, Monday (14/4/2025).
"We are committed through this Level II PKN to form fighter leaders who are ready to serve to improve the welfare of society. Serving 24 hours, seven days a week," said Herman.
He likened the fighter leadership model through the analogy of tigers and goats. According to him, if a tiger leads a hundred goats, the goats will roar. But if a goat leads a hundred tigers, the tigers will bleat.
"God willing, everyone present here will be future tigers who will roar for the benefit of society," he stressed.
Herman emphasized that true leadership is the courage to take risks for the benefit of the people.
"A true leader is one who is willing to risk his life and soul for the people," he added.
On the same occasion, the Deputy for Implementation of ASN Capacity Development of the Indonesian State Administration Institute (LAN), Tri Widodo Wahyu Utomo, hopes that PKN will not only be a place to exchange knowledge, but also a moment to open hearts, minds, and self-potential.
He is in line with Herman's view that ASN, especially those occupying strategic positions, must have the spirit of unlimited leadership, or leadership without limits.
"In this way, the hopes of the Governor and the Regional Secretary to create leaders with fighting characters can be realized," he said.
