PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, released the West Java Provincial Secretariat (Setda) Contingent who will participate in the 43rd National Sports Day (HAORNAS) series in 2026.

The send-off ceremony took place at Bale Gemah Ripah, Gedung Sate, Bandung City, on Monday, September 21, 2026. Meanwhile, the National Sports Week (HAORNAS) celebrations will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Sport Jabar Arcamanik.

In his direction, Herman advised that the participation of the West Java Regional Secretariat ranks in HAORNAS should not only be an arena for competition and recreation, but also a momentum to strengthen togetherness and build enthusiasm in carrying out government duties.

Herman summarized his message in three key words: healthy, happy, and victorious. "Make sure we're healthy. Exercise is healthy, after all. The healthy get healthier, the unhealthy become healthier," said Herman Suryatman.

According to Herman, sports should also bring joy. Therefore, he encouraged the entire contingent to participate in each series of activities with joy and to maintain a sense of togetherness.

"Both are happy. This is a traditional sport, a unique sport. So make sure everyone is happy. From today's opening and send-off, be happy. Keep smiling until tomorrow," he said.

The third message was to cultivate a winning mentality. Herman urged all contingents to maintain their enthusiasm and give their best, even though the National Sports Week (HAORNAS) matches were held in a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere.

"The third one wins. This is a match. Even though it's simple, even though it's relaxed, we still have a winning mentality," he stressed.

Herman emphasized that the principles of health, happiness, and victory apply not only during competitions but also in daily duties as civil servants.

"The spirit of victory in sports must be translated into a passion for achieving West Java's development targets. Every official must understand that bureaucratic work ultimately leads to improving public welfare," Herman said.

He mentioned a number of indicators that are of concern in the development of West Java, starting from reducing poverty and unemployment, reducing maternal and infant mortality rates, to increasing the Human Development Index (HDI).

Herman also appreciated several achievements of West Java that have received national attention, including the reduction in stunting rates, the increase in the Human Development Index (HDI), and investment achievements.

"West Java's stunting rate is the highest in Indonesia, falling from 21.7 percent to 15.9 percent, a decrease of 5.8 percent," he said.

Herman added that West Java's Human Development Index (HDI) increased by 0.98 points, higher than the national average of 0.88 points. Meanwhile, realized investment in West Java reached Rp296.8 trillion.

However, Herman reminded that there is still homework that must be completed together, especially in reducing poverty and unemployment rates.

Therefore, Herman hopes that the enthusiasm built through HAORNAS can become positive energy for all levels of the West Java Regional Secretariat in carrying out government duties.

With a healthy and happy spirit, said Herman, ASN are expected to be able to develop a winning mentality at work and make the best contribution to realizing an increasingly prosperous West Java.

Meanwhile, the Assistant for General Administration of the West Java Provincial Secretariat, Nanin Hayani Adam, reported that the West Java Regional Secretariat contingent is ready to take part in six sports branches in the 2026 National Sports Week (HAORNAS) series.

The six branches are catapult, beam relay, men's long distance running, women's long distance running, team balogo, and waringkas gymnastics.

"The contingent number is 432 people," said Nanin in his report.

The contingent consists of athletes, managers and sports teams, supporting elements, and supporters.

According to Nanin, the contingent's readiness has gone through several stages, starting from the selection and determination of potential athletes, including participants and winners of Pusaka 2026.
