PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Province Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman attended a public dialogue event with the Bandung Geopolitical Studies community with the theme "Measuring Indonesia-China Trade Relations on the West Java Economy", at Hafa Warehouse, Bandung City, Wednesday (31/7/2024 ) afternoon.

Herman welcomed this positive activity as a forum for West Java's young generation to enrich their global insight.

"We just took part in a simple discussion with Bandung Geopolitics Studies, but it was very exciting because coincidentally the founding elder was Mr. Bedi Budiman (Chairman of Commission I of the West Java DPRD)," said Herman Suryatman.

"It's amazing that Bandung Geopolitics Studies are young people who care about diplomacy, which is carried out not only from a formal perspective, but also informally," said Herman.

Bandung Geopolitics Studies is a think tank or think tank which is a forum for international relations science activists.

This community was developed by students from various universities in West Java, especially in the Greater Bandung area and also other individuals who are interested in global issues.

The discussion activity brought together practitioners, academics and also other resource persons such as the presence of West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman at the meeting.

"There are practitioners, academics and politicians here, of course one of the visions is to encourage West Java to build good international relations with various countries," said Herman.

"And today we are talking about Indonesia-China diplomatic relations. At least from the trade side, especially West Java, China, whose trade balance is currently positive, we have to observe this from West Java's perspective," he said.

"Of course the West Java Provincial Government welcomes Bandung Geopolitics Studies with its various activities," added Herman.

Bandung Geopolitical Studies initiator, who is also Chairman of Commission I of the West Java DPRD, Bedi Budiman, revealed that the spirit of the community he leads is people connection , namely the connection between people to form networks.

Networks can be social capital that can be useful for encouraging accelerated development in various sectors of life.

"I would like to thank the Regional Secretary for really understanding the dynamics that are taking place, the dialogue between the parties. Bandung Geopolitics Studies is for connection, mainly people connection ," said Bedi.

"So he can move in economics, arts and culture or other fields, and I am very happy that the Regional Secretary has given the philosophy of how we must stand as strong citizens of West Java and that is the basic mental capital for being strong to enter the era of international relations," said Bedi.
