PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Province Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman opened the 2024 Indonesia Aerospace Industry Forum or 2024 Indonesian Aviation Industry Forum at the Jasmine Ballroom, Pullman Grand Central Bandung, Tuesday ( 11/6/2024 ).

On that occasion, Herman revealed that the West Java Provincial Government welcomed the holding of this forum in Bandung City, which is the capital of West Java Province.

Moreover, continued Herman, history has recorded that the city of Bandung has become part of the development of the aviation industry in Indonesia.

In 1935, the city of Bandung was the place where the PK-KKH registered Walraven W-2 airplane was made which successfully crossed the skies of Europe.

At that time, this plane was the only representative from Asia to land at Schippol Airport, Netherlands.

"This forum, thank God, is being held in the city of Bandung. This is an honor and certainly not suddenly because Bandung has a long history related to aviation in this republic," said Herman Suryatman.

"Bandung is the city of aviation, PT. Dirgantara Indonesia is the transformation of an aviation company which is our pride," he added.

He also hopes that the forum held by aircraft manufacturer from the United States, Boeing, will produce brilliant ideas for the future of the aviation industry in Indonesia in particular, and the world in general.

Herman also said that today's event was strategic because the West Java Provincial Government continues to support the aviation industry.

One of them, the West Java Provincial Government now has West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka Regency, in the Rebana Metropolitan area which will be the gateway to West Java in the future.

Meanwhile, Boeing Indonesia Country Managing Director Zaid Alami revealed that his party is happy to increase partnerships and at the same time participate in supporting the creation of an aviation industry ecosystem in Indonesia and even the world.

Partnerships that have been established so far, namely in the aircraft spare parts supply sector.

"Boeing is ready to help and support the growth of the aerospace industry in Indonesia," said Zaid.
