PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Regional Secretary of West Java Province Herman Suryatman invited Bandung City Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) cadres to jointly handle waste management in Bandung City.

The management carried out includes promoting the 3R principle, namely "reuse", reusing waste that can still be used or is functional.

Then "reduce", reducing everything that causes or creates waste, and "recycle", reprocessing waste or recycling it into a new, useful product or item.

This was conveyed by Herman Suryatman to PKK cadres throughout Bandung City, during the socialization and education on waste management at the Bandung City Pendopo, Wednesday (11/13/2024).

"This afternoon we are with Mrs. Acting Chairwoman of the Bandung City PKK TP and administrators, as well as PKK cadres from sub-districts/villages throughout Bandung City. This is an extraordinary commitment from the Bandung City PKK to help accelerate waste management by reducing and utilizing waste. God willing, we will recycle waste," said Herman.

Herman said, if the mother is a central figure in the family, then in the uniformity of waste management movements, the role of mothers is also needed as the key to the success of a movement.

It is hoped that with the movement and encouragement of PKK cadres in each region, waste management efforts in the Greater Bandung area, especially the city of Bandung, can be more effective.

With a central role in the family unit, as much as possible, mothers, PKK cadres, can at least work together to realize "zero food waste" at the household level. Even better if they succeed in recycling, utilizing, especially achieving "zero waste".

"Bandung City PKK mothers will also become agents of change for waste management in the field, in 30 sub-districts, 151 urban villages in Bandung City," said Herman.

"At the same time, everyone is moving until mothers in all households are reducing, utilizing, and recycling waste up to the sub-district level. So it's great, if the sub-district is great, Bandung City is great, then the province automatically because the province is an aggregate," he added.
