PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Posyandu cadres have an important role in educating the community in efforts to reduce stunting and extreme poverty in West Java.
This was stated by the Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, when opening the West Java Provincial Level Posyandu Cadre Jamboree in Bandung City, Thursday (5/9/2024).
"We discussed many things, how to strengthen the role of Poayandu cadres, especially focusing on two things, realizing zero new stunting and no people in extreme poverty," he said.
The Jamboree event was attended by all Posyandu cadres from 27 regencies/cities throughout West Java, which was held on 5-6 September 2024.
Herman also said that the West Java Provincial Government, city and district governments and cadres will work together to ensure that stunting and extreme poverty rates decrease in West Java.
"That is our commitment in implementing the West Java Posyandu Cadre Jamboree," he said.
Herman hopes that Posyandu cadres can become agents of change and implement the role of Jamillah (Protect Pregnant Women and a Clean and Healthy Environment).
"We hope that all jamboree participants will become Jamillah, take care of pregnant women and a clean and healthy environment. All will become agents of change and agents of renewal," said Herman.
Meanwhile, the Head of DP3AKB West Java, Siska Gerfianti, said that the function of the integrated health post cadres is as data collectors, motivators, and counselors in the field.
He also explained that in an effort to increase women's economic empowerment, cadres will also be included in vocational training through the West Java Women's School.
"So that West Java's revenue contribution also increases and improves the Gender Empowerment Index and family welfare in West Java," said Siska.
