PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG REGENCY - Regional Secretary of West Java Province Herman Suryatman delivered strategic directions for structural officials of Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital, West Java Province in Bandung Regency, Friday (1/11/2024).
On that occasion, Herman gave his views on the importance of leadership continuity and organizational readiness to face change, especially in the transition from Dewi Basmala's leadership to PIt. Director of RSUD Al-Ihsan Ferry Achmad.
"We have carried out simple consolidation to ensure the transition goes smoothly," said Herman.
Iq explained that various efforts have been made, including coordinating with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of PAN-RB to extend Dewi Basmala's leadership period as Plt. However, the rule that requires the position to be filled by State Civil Apparatus (ASN) is still followed.
"We have tried, but as a government organization, we must comply with existing policies and regulations," he said.
Furthermore, Herman emphasized the importance of leadership learning in organizations, where a good leader must be able to produce new leaders.
"Leaders create leaders. Great leaders not only lead well, but also prepare their successors," said Herman.
He also revealed that in his position as West Java Regional Secretary, one measure of success is when he is able to prepare a successor who is ready to replace him. According to him, this is an indicator of effective leadership.
Three candidates
Herman also revealed that currently his party is identifying potential successors in the Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital environment. This process will prioritize ASN who have competence in the health sector.
"We are identifying potential candidates to be positioned as the head of Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital. Later, we will report the three best candidates to the Governor to be selected as the definitive director," he explained.
Herman reminded all levels of Al-Ihsan Hospital to continue to focus on three main factors that determine the success of work culture transformation, namely leadership, systems, and values.
"According to research, leadership contributes 40 percent to the success of an organization. This means that Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital will be great if it is able to develop these three aspects well," he added.
Herman hopes that with ongoing efforts in transforming the work culture at Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital, this hospital can be more advanced and provide increasingly optimal services to the community.
"Continuous improvement is the key. We must not be complacent. Let's work together to ensure that Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital becomes a better hospital in the future," he said.
