PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. CIREBON - Families have an important role in building the nation, including producing quality Human Resources (HR). Therefore, the role of the family in efforts to prevent stunting is very large.

This was said by the Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, in commemoration of National Family Day 2024 at Ranggajati Stadium, Cirebon Regency, Saturday (20/7/2024).

“What we want to convey regarding the family are two things. First, how can families in West Java be free from stunting. "Secondly, I want to convey to ladies and gentlemen how families in West Java are free from Emok banks," said Herman.

Herman said, in preventing stunting, there are two strategies that must be routinely pursued in the field. First, before birth in pregnant women. According to him, make sure pregnant women get blood supplement tablets, check with health workers at least six times, and get animal protein such as eggs, meat, fish and milk.

Meanwhile, the second attempt is carried out after birth. Families must ensure that toddlers 0-6 months receive exclusive breast milk. Then, toddlers aged 7-24 months receive breast milk and receive complementary foods (MPASI) and animal protein.

"One way to ensure that our children don't get stunted is to be more anticipatory, mitigating, which prevents new stunting from occurring, zero new stunting. Of course, without neglecting others, both sensitive and specific," said Herman.

Apart from that, Herman also said that his party continues to make efforts so that families in West Java are not trapped by Emok Bank. One of them is by designing an economic training scheme for women, and opening access to banking capital for families in West Java.

The aim is for people to be able to access formal financial institutions.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you can access official banking, there are BPR, there are BJB, there are cooperatives, there are BUMDes, and currently information for all, the West Java Provincial Government with the West Java BKKBN are preparing a scheme which, God willing, will help women and the community in West Java," he said.

"Hopefully 600 thousand mothers in West Java have the ability to become entrepreneurs, who will then be given access to capital and will also be assisted with access to marketing. Yes, the hope is that mothers can get out of the emok bank trap. That is the government's commitment," he added.

In commemoration of National Family Day 2024 at Ranggajati Stadium, there are many activations held by various parties, starting from family planning (KB) services, social service, blood donation, Planning Generation (Genre), PPKB products, Stunting Task Force Forum, work events , disaster response awards night, to the UMKM product bazaar.
