PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Bogor Regency Government together with IPB University held a graduation ceremony for the Rawa Panjang Village Pre-Marital School, Bojonggede District, which was attended directly by the Acting Regent of Bogor, Bachril Bakri, at the Multipurpose Building I of the Regional Secretariat on Sunday (16/2/2025).

This activity is the result of collaboration between the Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Service (DP3AP2KB) of Bogor Regency and IPB University.

Acting Regent of Bogor, Bachril Bakri emphasized the importance of preparing the development of quality human resources through a comprehensive long-term program.

"Preparing the development of quality human resources cannot be done instantly. A long-term program is needed that must start from the family as the smallest unit in society," he said.

Bachril Bakri also said that one of the steps that can be taken to prepare the future of the younger generation is to provide pre-marital education for teenagers aged 12 to 18 years.

Through this program, it is hoped that it can reduce the number of underage marriages, divorces, domestic violence, and family health problems such as stunting.

"Premarital school is not just a technical preparation for marriage, but also about building a better future for the next generation. With the right investment, we can create a healthy, happy, and harmonious family for the progress of the nation and state," added Bachril Bakri.

The Acting Regent of Bogor also hopes that the success of the implementation of this pre-marital school can be continued, especially in areas of Bogor Regency that still face high cases of underage marriage.

Bachril Bakri also conveyed a message to the graduates not to stop learning and to continue to develop their capacities.

"Take advantage of various technological advances to continue learning and sharing the knowledge you have gained to create a healthy and harmonious family," said Bachril.

With the success of this graduation ceremony, it is hoped that the participants can become agents of change in their respective environments, share the knowledge they have gained, and motivate other teenagers to improve their capacity and contribute to creating prosperous and harmonious families in the future.

Meanwhile, the Head of DP3AP2KB Bogor Regency, Sussy Rahayu Agustini, on that occasion conveyed the importance of pre-marital education to prevent early marriage which can have a negative impact on the health and future of teenagers.

"Early marriage can have serious impacts, especially for girls, such as high risk of childbirth, stunting, and psychological trauma," he said.

This activity involved 75 teenagers aged between 12 and 18 years old, who came from Rawa Panjang Village, Bojonggede District. This program was carried out in several sessions from January 25 to February 15, 2025, with materials delivered by IPB University lecturers and medical personnel, such as village midwives.

Present at this activity were the Secretary of IPB University, Head of the Cibinong Religious Court, Head of DP3AP2KB, and the Head of Rawa Panjang Village also attended the lively graduation ceremony. (Diskominfo Kab. Bogor/Fauziah)
