PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Regional Secretariat (Setda) of Garut Regency held a meeting to consolidate preparations for the 211th Anniversary of Garut Regency in 2024. This meeting was held in the Garut Deputy Regent's Meeting Room, Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, on Monday (12/2 /2024).

Head of the Protocol and Communications Section of the Garut Regional Secretariat, Neneng Martiana, explained that this meeting was the second step in preparing for the 211th Anniversary of Garut Regency (HJG).

"The agenda for this meeting is of course the first to re-optimize the socialization of Garut Anniversary, the reverberations of which must be felt in the community," he said.

Neneng said that in accordance with Regional Regulations, there are 3 main events that will be held in Garut's Anniversary Commemoration, namely the ceremony, the Plenary Meeting of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), and a pilgrimage to the grave of the first Garut Regent, RAA Adiwijaya.

"Then we also shared activities that could be carried out to celebrate Garut's anniversary, namely several activities related to social service, arts, religion, then government activities, and others," he said.

Neneng explained that the results of the meeting would be reported to the General Chair of the Garut Regency 211th Anniversary Committee, who also serves as the Regional Secretary (Sekda), Nurdin Yana, to obtain approval and optimal implementation. He hopes that this year's Garut Anniversary celebration can take place solemnly, simply and lively.

Through this commemoration, said Neneng, it is hoped that it can remember historical facts and increase enthusiasm and pride in Garut, in addition to highlighting local values that make Garut Regency more advanced than other regions.

"Increasing enthusiasm, increasing pride, a sense of love for our Garut, and raising something local," he concluded.
