
PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City National Narcotics Agency (BNN) will have a Narcotics Rehabilitation building on Jalan Ciung Wanara, Coblong District. The plan is for this rehabilitation center to operate from November 2024.
Acting Mayor of Bandung Bambang Tirtoyuliono said that the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has prepared land for drug rehabilitation and is currently in the construction stage.
"We have these facilities which we will optimize in handling. In prevention we are taking more concrete steps. The city government is preparing what is called a rehabilitation center which is currently being built and has quite a large capacity," said Bambang, Wednesday (26/6/2024)
The building is planned to have seven floors to increase access to services for Bandung residents. It is targeted to operate in November 2024.
"Hopefully this can be completed in November. The progress is positive, hopefully this can be completed quickly and can also be put into operation quickly," he said.
Later, this rehabilitation center will have various facilities ranging from medical treatment to narcotics counseling.
Bambang said that the prevalence rate of drugs in the city of Bandung is still quite high. Therefore, there must be a joint commitment to combat it, one of the Bandung City Government's commitments is by building a drug rehabilitation center.
"This is of course a joint effort. Not just the government, but society. Everyone must be able to educate everyone about the dangers of drugs," he said.
Head of General Subdivision of BNN Bandung City, Gilang Fajar Sadiq, said that the construction of this rehabilitation center was a pilot project throughout Indonesia. No city yet has independent rehabilitation services.
The plan is for the rehabilitation center to open services every day and provide inpatient care.
"It's open every day. Because it also provides inpatient care. Apart from that, there are counseling services for the community," he said.
