PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - To commemorate the 384th anniversary of Ciamis Regency, the Doervoer Community carried out a routine social service program in the form of blood donations and assistance to orphans, thalassemia patients, and the elderly. The humanitarian activity was held at the Joglo Timur Pendopo, Ciamis Regency, on Thursday (June 18, 2026).

Rusna Apriatna, the organizing committee chair and Governor of Doervoer, expressed her deep appreciation to all those who participated. She emphasized that the Doervoer movement prioritizes a personal and sincere approach, without using a formal proposal system. Funds raised come entirely from individual donations and support from various agencies and communities.

"Our initial target was actually 150 people. However, thank God, donor enthusiasm was so high that we actually reached 160 people," said Rusna.

The beneficiaries of this social activity include 70 orphans, 50 thalassemia survivors, and 40 elderly residents. Donations came from various sources, from the Ciamis Regency Government to other community and community organizations.

Ciamis Regent Herdiat Sunarya, who attended and opened the event, expressed his pride in the community's solidarity. He emphasized that this charity event was truly noble, especially since it coincided with the month of Muharram.

In line with the tagline of this year's anniversary commemoration, namely "Guyub Ngawangun Galuh", Regent Herdiat emphasized that mutual cooperation is a characteristic and invaluable asset of the Ciamis community.

According to him, amidst various challenges facing the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), community self-help contributions have become a real pillar of support.

"If you think about it, the mutual cooperation in Ciamis was incredibly extensive. It ranged from building roads, irrigation, and madrasas, to socio-religious activities at the village and neighborhood level," explained Regent Herdiat.

Regent Herdiat believes that more than half of the development in this area is driven by active community participation. Various independent initiatives by residents, such as maintaining environmental cleanliness and regular community service initiatives initiated by Doervoer, could, if calculated materially, amount to billions of rupiah, not accounted for in the government budget.

"The spirit of building Galuh together must be maintained. No matter how difficult the task, if we work together and find solutions together, God willing, no difficult task will remain unfinished," he concluded.

The family-friendly event concluded with the distribution of basic food aid to recipients and a prayer for the future well-being and progress of Ciamis Regency. (Ciamis Regency Communications and Information Office/rka)
