PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The government through PT PLN West Java Distribution Main Unit during 2019 to 2023 succeeded in connecting free village electricity to 883 hamlets with a total of 2,113 customers spread across West Java.

General Manager of PLN UID West Java, Susiana Mutia, said that the number of hamlets that had been electrified by the lisdes program in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 was 255 hamlets, O hamlets (conditions in 2020 Covid 19 pandemic), 361 hamlets, 136 hamlets and 131 Hamlet.

"The total number of hamlets where the PLN electricity network was built in that period was 883 hamlets," said Susiana, Thursday (12/7/2024).

With the construction of the Rural Electricity Network in line with the growth of PLN's Electrification Ratio (RE) in West Java Province, namely 2019 RE 99%, 2020 RE 99%, 2021 RE 99.54%, 2022 RE 99.68%, 2023 RE 99.71% and Semester 1 2024 RE 99.99%.

According to Susiana, the village electricity program, whose funding comes from State Capital Participation (PMN), is clear evidence of the state's presence through BUMN to provide electricity to remote areas of West Java as well as a fair form of energy.

“Electricity is society's primary need. With the presence of electricity in remote areas, people can use it for various things, such as children being able to study at night, gaining knowledge through the media, helping mothers with their household activities and so on, so it is hoped that their quality and welfare will increase. "Therefore, West Java PLN UID will continue to support the Lisdes program," explained Susiana.

Susiana said that until semester 1 2024, West Java PLN UID had connected lisdes to 155 customers. PLN UID West Java targets that by 2024, 755 customers will be electrified. (Parno)
