PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - Ciamis Regent Herdiat Sunarya welcomed the new Ciamis Police Chief, AKBP Eko Iskandar, to ensure public safety. (August 3, 2026)

The handover ceremony and farewell ceremony for the Ciamis Police Chief took place at the Ciamis Police Headquarters Ballroom.

The activity was attended by the ranks of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), the Regional Secretary, heads of regional apparatus organizations, religious leaders, and the community.

Herdiat welcomed AKBP Eko Iskandar and his family and invited all parties to maintain security and order in Ciamis Regency.

"We welcome Mr. AKBP Eko Iskandar and his family to Tatar Galuh Ciamis. We hope his presence brings blessings and further strengthens the synergy in maintaining a safe, peaceful, and conducive Ciamis Regency," said Herdiat.

Ciamis Regency has 27 sub-districts, 258 villages, and seven sub-districts with a population of around 1.3 million people.

The majority of the population of Ciamis work as farmers, with a religious, harmonious social character and a culture of mutual cooperation.

This condition serves as social capital in maintaining regional stability, including the success of the 2024 Simultaneous General Election and Regional Elections, which took place safely.

"Therefore, we invite all ranks of the Ciamis Police, along with the Regional Government, Forkopimda, and all stakeholders to continue strengthening coordination, synergy, and togetherness to maintain the situation in Ciamis Regency so that it remains safe, peaceful, and conducive," he stressed.

Herdiat also expressed his appreciation to AKBP H. Hidayatullah for his dedication and service while leading the Ciamis Police.

Hidayatullah received a promotion as Head of Personnel Control Section (Kabag Dalpers) of the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar).

"On behalf of myself and the Ciamis Regency Government, we would like to express our gratitude to AKBP H. Hidayatullah and his family for all the service, dedication, and synergy they have provided while serving in Ciamis Regency. May all of his good deeds be a field of reward and his career be increasingly successful in his new assignment," he said.

Herdiat asked the regional government, the TNI-Polri, Forkopimda, and the community to maintain security as a foundation for regional development.

Maintained security provides a sense of comfort for the community while supporting the smooth running of social activities and development in Ciamis Regency.

The change in leadership is a momentum to maintain the continuity of security services for around 1.3 million Ciamis residents.
