PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Acting. The Regent of Garut, Barnas Adjidin, said that synergy between the TNI and the local government must remain intact, especially in anticipating community needs where previously there were issues regarding the scarcity of basic necessities.

"Yes, the hope is that prices on the market will be stable, and then the public will not have to be afraid of rumors that there are no goods and so on. I, the Garut Regency Government, guarantee (availability) that food supplies will be available," he said on the sidelines of reviewing the implementation of the Movement. National Simultaneous Cheap Food (GPM) initiated by Korem 062/Tarumanegara (TN), on Jalan Baratayudha, Garut Kota District, Garut Regency (1/4/2024).

On behalf of the Garut District Government, the Acting Regent of Garut expressed his gratitude to Korem 062/TN, which has successfully held this cheap food program activity.

According to him, this will be very beneficial for the community considering that people really need basic commodities ahead of Eid al-Fitr

"What is clear is that the price is cheaper, and currently people really need it," he said.

Meanwhile, Danrem 062/TN, Colonel Arh Rudi Ragil Sang Putra, said that on this occasion he missed holding a cheap market to welcome Eid al-Fitr 2024.

"With this bazaar, we can at least alleviate the needs so that what is said to be rare and so on, in fact we can make it happen at stable prices," he said.

This cheap market activity will be held for 5 days starting from April 1 - April 5 2024, collaborating with around 25 MSMEs from local residents, members of the TNI, and Persit, to provide basic needs ahead of Eid.

"Yes, starting from rice, cooking oil, eggs, chilies, then sugar, we will display a lot later at the bazaar. Yes, these are necessities for Eid," he said.

Danrem 062/TN added that the output that this activity wants to produce is that the community can be helped in meeting their basic needs in the run-up to Eid at affordable prices.
